Yesterday we went to St. John's Arboretum. I can't believe that the rain actually held off and the sun peeked out during our visit! Thank you for sending your children in appropriate attire- every single student was prepared to go rain or shine. Although we were very busy investigating and learning about insects, I did manage to sneak a few snapshots- enjoy!
Today we did an experiment to see what fraction of our class could blow bubbles. I think this was the most fun we've had in a long time! 8/23 students were able to blow bubbles. Well, our week off is coming to an end. I hope that you have all enjoyed your time off! I am looking forward to getting back to our routine, as well as some warmer temperatures :-) It's amazing how much learning we can accomplish with five full days of school! And now we will reward ourselves with a week off :-) we had a lot of fun learning about animals and shapes this week, and got to play school wide bingo Friday afternoon. Have a great week off! Well, as you already know Friday was yet another snow day. As much as I love a bonus day off, I'm getting pretty tired of the interrupted learning. This snow day was a little special however, it was my Jacob's 2nd birthday! We enjoyed relaxing and celebrating Jakes 2nd birthday... And as you can see, he was ready to enjoy his cake! In math today we finished up last weeks stations: In our whole group lesson we discussed how to sort shapes by their attributes. The class was split up into two teams and told to sort their shapes. Happy 100th day of school! Our class actually got to celebrate twice :-). Due to all the snow days, we were a little mixed up! I can't believe hw much out students have grown in the last 100 days, it's so exciting to watch them learn. Here are a few snapshots of our fun activities! We had such a blast celebrating our 100th day together (twice!). I have to thank Cara Carol over at the first grade parade for her fun 100th day packet and ideas! We were a little noisy this week! We learned about math. We did our brand new centers, I thought that it was kinda loud. In the cafeteria everyone was screaming. We learned about Dr. Seuss, my favorite story was Green Eggs and Ham. It was fun reading Green Eggs and Ham. I am excited to be going to Las Vegas this weekend and we're going to celebrate my birthday!
